COO

What is a COO?

A COO, or Chief Operating Officer, is a high-ranking executive in a company who oversees the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of a business. The COO reports directly to the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and is often considered the second in command within the organization.

In many organizations, the COO is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the company's business plans and strategies. The role involves a broad range of responsibilities that can vary significantly from one organization to another, depending on the specific needs and structure of the business. For instance, a COO may oversee areas such as production, research and development, marketing, and human resources.
